"TOO DRASTIC."
BAND CONTEST DEMANDS
RESENTED IN CHRISTCHURCH. (By Telegraph.—Press Association.) CHRISTCHURCH, this day. Strong indignation was expressed at a meeting of the Christchurch bands' contest committee at the conditions laid down by the New Zealand Brass Bands' Association, under which the committee could conduct the 1935 bands' contest if their application were granted. It was decided, after a long discussion, to make no application. Several members said the conditions were too drastic. The association was asking the committee to run the contest without giving them any guarantee of a share in the profits. The association was on a "good wicket," with no responsibility at all.
