CHAMPION PACER.
WALLA WALLA AT ADDING TON. CniUSTCHURCir, Thursday. Several hundred trotting enthusiasts attended the Addingtou course early this morning and watched training operations, particularly of the Australian champion, Walla Walla, and Auburn Lad, who raced against Nelson's Victory over a mile. JSelson's Victory was first into the straight, but over the last furlong Walla Walla displayed a brilliant burst and passed the other two easily. Ho paced the last half mile in 1.3 —the last furlong was covered in better than a 2.0 clip, it was a great effort. JEWEL POINTER FOR AODINGTON. Jewel Pointer, who holds engagements at tho New Zealand Metropolitan Easter meeting, is to leave for Addington tomorrow in charge of his trainer, S. M. August. In liis final work-out at Otahuhu Jewel Pointer was scut over a mile and a .half and registered 3.11 2-5. Ho went his first mile in 2.3 2-5, which was particularly fast, and although it would be too much to expect the son of Logan Pointer to beat such liigh-class performers as will be competing in the invitation races he can be relied upon to rccord a solid performance. Ivewpie's Triumph ie also being taken South by W. Gee, and he will fulfil engagements.
