THE MAGISTRACY.
NQ NEW APPOINTMENT. MR. LUXFORD TO RETURN? (By Telegraph.—Press Association.) WELLINGTON, Thursday. The Minister of Justice, the Hon. J. G. Cobbe, announced to-day that no immediate appointment would be made to the magistracy to succeed Mr. A. M. Mowlem. The Minister said that a rearrangement of the personnel of the magistracy, an extension of the period of service of a magistrate about to retire and the contemplated return to New Zealand of Mr. J. H. Luxford, who had been on loan to the Samoan administration, had made it possible satisfactorily to adjust matters so as to make no appointment necessary.
