ROTORUA CARNIVAL.
PROPOSAL FOR ORGANISER. AFFIRMED BY COUNCIL. (From Our Own Correspondent.) ROTORUA, Thursday. The Rotorua Christmas Carnival has now reached such proportions that the Borough Council has been forced to consider the question of appointing a paid organiser. There has been a strong feeling in the town for some time past that such an appointment should be made if the important fixture -was to be kept up to proper holiday standard. A proposal before the council last night was that "Immediate steps be taken to appoint an efficient organiser at a salary commencing at £400 per annum."
After discussion it was decided to approve of the principle of the appointment, and ask the advancement committee to formulate proposals for consideration with the estimates.
