board of control. LIFE MEMBERSHIP RECOMMENDATIONS. . . { .. ■■ The Auckland Rugby. League Board of Control met last evening, Mr. E. J. lihelan presiding over a full attendance. . Mr Phelan reported upon progress being made, with the new grandstand.. - The Auckland Referees' Association, in asking that the New Zealand-League be recommended to -admit Mr. A. Ball to. f membership, pointed out that chairman of the association, Mr. Ball, was honoured to life membership to the Auckland League four years ago and w«* recommended to the New Zealand Council but as Mr. Ball was persuaded to retain the chairmanship of the association, the major application was not persisted in Mr. Bfill had occupied .almost every active administrative post: in th eAuck land and New Zealand bodies. The request of the association was adopted, to gether with applications in respect-of Mr. C Adamson (ex-chairunan of the J.M.0.), and Mr. T. Davis, the retired secretary of the junior management. The Ponsonby United Clnb wns granted temoorary -use of Carlaw Paik tor. ing on Tuesday and .Thursday, evenings.
