OVER THE AIR.

PRESBYTERIAN SERVICES.

QUESTION OF BROADCASTING,

Tho question of broadcasting church services was discussed by the Auckland Presbytery yesterday, when on behalf of a special committee the Rev. R. E. Evans recommended that it would not be desirable to lay down specific rules for the exchange of pulpits for broadcast services.

The Rev. T. N. Cuttle said that it had been left to ministers who were on the air to decide the question, and they practically said that they would not allow anybody to como into their churches.

The Rev. E. J. Tipler said that the committee did not desire any monopoly, but he felt that the committee could not draw up a rota of exchange. They had to rely, on the Christian fellowship of the brethren who had the privilege of broadcasting. The Rev. I. E. Bertram said that of the last six broadcast services from St. Andrew's Church three had been taken by others than himself.

The Rev. A. M. EllifTe said that as many ministers a.s possible should be asked to speak over the air.

The Rev. J. McKenzie said that the four ministers concerned were quite willing to exchange pulpits.
