SEAMEN'S MISSION.

BUILDING FREE OF DEBT. AN UP-TO-DATE INSTITUTE. "Auckland now possesses one of the most up-to-date and complete institutes in the world," states the annual report of the board of management of the Flying Angel Missions to Seamen. The new building was reported as entirely free of debt.

Receipts for the year ended December 31, as shown in the annual statement, totalled £1724 and expenditure £1709. Assets were estimated at £7421, and there were no liabilities. The building fund had been increased during the year by £220 from the nautical ball on the Wanganella, £300 from the Ladies' Harbour Lights Guild, £150 by a legacy from the late Mrs. A. E. George, and a Government building subsidy of £63.

The chaplain, the Rev. H. K. Vickery, stated in his annual rfeport that the year under review was a busy one. The completion of the building scheme had been the most noteworthy advance. The attendance of seamen at socials and entertainments totalled 7167, hospital visits had numbered 108, and 373 visits had been paid to ships. Mr. Vickery this year will celebrate the silver jubilee of his work with the Missions to Seamen Society.

Appreciation was expressed of tho efforts towards the completion made by the chaplain and Mrs. Vickery and members of the Ladies' Harbour Lights Guild.
