The winter season of the Akarana Ladies' Golf Club was opened yesterday. The links were in excellent condition. Mrs. St. George, club captain, welcomed members and drove the first ball. A Canadian foursomes medal competition was played over IS holes, a tie resulting between three pairs. Mrs. Ivingsland and Miss O'Callahan, with a score of <)o—l0—SO, proved the winners on a count back over the last nine holes. WAITEMATA LADIES' CLUB. The Waitemnta Ladles' Golf Club opened its season yesterday, when a Canadian foursomes match was played. The winners were Mrs. Caraclian and Mrs. L. Prime. PUPUKE CLUB. Next Saturday will be president's day at the Pupuke Gold Club, and an open day for members and their friends. A mixed Canadian foursomes will be played over a full round (players to choose partners and arrange opponents). ROTORUA LADIES' CLUB. At the annual meeting of the Rotorua Ladies' Golf Club, Miss S. Snodgrass presided. There was a large attendance. Oiiicers elected: —Captain, Miss S. Snodgrass ; vice-captain, no election, left to committee; general committee, Mesdames J. Ormsby, E. Robinson, J. Banks and A. Budd. , , „ It was decided that the Drysdalc Cup be played for on handicap, and that the idea of holding qualifying rounds for the A and B championships be permanently adopted. A request from the New Zealand Golf Union to raise the existing ladies' par to 74 had been declined. WAIHI CLUB. The annual meeting of the Waihi Golf Club was held last evening, Mr. \V. H. Johnston presiding. The officers elected were :—President, Mr. W. 11. Johnston; captain, Mr. E. H. Fayze; secretary, Mr. J. Barron ; committee, Messrs. T. C. Wutters, J. Whitehead, T. Clarke, 11. Johnston. J. Spence, J. Kelly; auditor, Mr. E. C. Wcstbury. Seven new members were elected. It was flecidcd to open the season on April 14.
