MOUNT EDEN COUNCIL.

The Slount Eden Borough Council met last evening, the Slayor, Mr. T. McNab, presiding. Deplorable Wilderness.—A complaint was received drawing attention to the deplorable wilderness of the lane running from Slount Eden Road to Henley Road. It was decided to request owners of property in the lane to clear it of weeds. Not Practicable.—The Slount Albert Borough Council wrote stating that the Transport Board had decided that a system of overlapping sections was impracticable. The letter was received.

Good Friday Pictures.—Proprietors of threo picture theatres in the borough wrote asking permission to screen approved picture programmes on Good Friday. It waß decided to decline the request, and point out that the council granted permissiqn to show pictures on Christmas Day on condition that Good Friday was not asked for.
