TRAWLER SINKS.
STRUCK ROCKS IN POG. SYDNEY, March 16. The trawler David Blake, owned in Sydney, struck the rocks near Tathra, on the south-east coast of New South Wales, last night and rapidly filled with water. The crew of another trawler, the Goolgwai, observed distress signals and rushed their vessel to the spot and took off her crew of 12 men.
When the David Blake went ashore there was a dense fog and visibility was very bad. The trawler Charlie Cam was wrecked in the same locality last year.
It was reported this afternoon that the David Blake is resting on a sandy bottom. 10 miles north of Tathra, having edged herself off the rocks. It may be possible to save her.
