WHY SHE WAS WITHDRAWN. Strong Light, who jarred a joint a few days ago, was - given only light exercise at Riccarton. Hence her defection from Trentham. GALLOPING WELL. Elbanor, a two-year-old by Rosenor from Elba, lias been galloping well on the Riccarton tracks and looks like being a good performer. He has a brilliant burst of speed, ,and though he has not had a race : yet lie may be in the money before the season is much further advanced. He is a member of Mrs. J. Campbell's team. GAYSOME AGAIN IN WORK. Gaysome, who had a short rest after a visit to Wingatui last month, is again in active commission at Riccarton. She has registered some very- attractive gallops, and on Tuesday her ell'ort was a useful : one, .considering the style in which she got through lier task. With only 7.0 to carry she is likely to play a prominent part in the Great Easter Handicap, as she can run seven furlongs solidly.
