MINISTER FAREWELLED.
MR. GILMODK'S DEPARTURE. The Balmoral Presbyterian Church was packed for the farewell tendered to the Rev. W. Gilmour, who had been minister of the charge for six years. Mr. D. E. Hird, session clerk, presided. Addresses were given by the chairman, the Rev. J. A. Thomson, Presbytery Moderator, the Very liev. George Biuld, the Rev. R. B. Tinsley, the Rev. P. L. A. Crampton, Pastor Campbell, Mr. V. A. Coyle, deputy-Mayor of Mount Albert, the Rev. G. Frost, Mr. J. 0. Entrican (Ulster Society), Mr. A. W. Essex (Canada), and Mr. D. G. Cole, who had welcomed the guest on arrival in New Zealand. A presentation of a cheque was made by Mr. Hugh Black, senior elder. Mrs. Gilmour was presented with a bouquet by two small Band of Hope girls, and she and Miss Kathie Gilmour were made gifts by Miss Munro, of the girls' club. Mrs. Gilmour was also the recipient of handsome gifts : from Mesdames Park and Hutchinson, on behalf of the ladies of the church.
Mr. Gilmour expressed great appreciation of the harmony which had existed in the church during his ministry. Mrs. Gilmour also spoke suitably. Musical items were rendered by Mrs. Rattray, Mr. Leslie Russell, the Balmoral male quartet and the choir. Mr. Gilmour. was inducted into the charge of the Kent Terrace Presbyterian Church, Wellington, last evening.
