Arrangements are well in hand for the garden fete to be held in the beautiful garden of Mrs. Savage, 20, Orakei Road, Remuera, in aid of the funds of the Auckland Provincial Girl Guide Association. The fete, which will be opened by Mrs. W. R. Wilson, is under the direction of Mrs. Coates, provincial commissioner, and the executive.

Miss Belle Thompson, of Auckland, the Free Gardeners' newest colonial member in London, gave an account of her 17,000 miles voyage before a large, appreciative audience at the Druids' Memorial Hall, Hull (says an English paper). After surveying the history and attractions of New Zealand, Miss Thompson briefly described Sydney, Frenmntle, Cocos Island, Colombo, Bombay, Aden, the Suez Canal, Corsica and Gibraltar. Miss Thompson is leaving for Norway later in the year before returning to New Zealand via America.

Miss Jerome Spencer, of Napier, arrived by the Rangitane after a most successful visit to the Old Country, during which she has visited women's institutes throughout the length and breadth of the land. Her last fixture was to address the Surrey federation of the women's institutes. Miss Spencer has arranged for many correspondence links between women's institutes in England and New Zealand. On her arrival in Auckland she immediately left for Napier.
