MINING CLAIMS.
LARGE AREAS SOUGHT. AUSTRALIAN INTERESTS. (By Telegraph —Own Correspondent.) THAMES, this day. Renewed interest in goldmining at Thames has been evidenced lately as a result of visits by mining representatives from overseas. A representative of a large Australian company was at Thames last week and Concluded options on behalf of his company over the Una Occidental, Cambria and Daisy Resolute claims.
The area embraces tlie whole of Una Hill, from Karnka Creek to Tepapu Gully. An option lias also boon taken over several Waioino claims. The company, it is stated, is prepared to spend £•250,000 011 approved mining ventures. A cable has also been received from another Australian company, offering cash and shares for a claim at Tararu. The owners liavo decided to accept the offer.
