WOMEN'S RIGHT TO EARN.
I Thirty-one organisations in Great Britain arc preparing to hold another big demonstration in the Central Hall on March 12, hoping that it will be as successful as the one held last November, to demand for married women the right to earn. This time the demand will be for equal pay for equal work. Mrs. Wintringliam is to preside, and Major Hills, Miss Winifred Iloltby and Commander Kenwortby will be among the speakers. Organised women in England have been dismayed ar the official set-back to the women's movement in Germany, which was quite unexpected, though through political changes other less advanced countries had already taken in more or less degree the same line. They regard as a menace the view widely held that it would help to solve the unemployment problem if it were made more difficult for women to earn, and they complain of inequalities in the Civil Service,, where in many instances, they say, the maximum salary for women its the minimum salary for men.
