PAPAKURA.
The ordinary meeting of the Papakura Town Board was held last evening, Mr. H. E. McEntee presiding.
Rate Penalty.—lt was decided to impose the 10 per cent rate penalty as from March 28.
Prince Edward Park.—Dealing with an application from the Papakura League Football Club for the use of the playing area during the coming football season, tho board decided to call tenders for the usq of the area, Mr. W. Francis dissenting.
Apology.—The Public Works Department sent an apology for cutting up Liverpool Street in connection with the route detours, before obtaining permission of the Town Board, explaining that the Department's ganger had mistaken his instructions.
Bureau Calls.—The Postmaster wrote, Baying, in answer to the board's request for facilities to obtain bureau calls after 5 p.m. by non-subscribers, that non-sub-sqribers could use subscribers' phones and it would not be a paying proposition to have a man on to receive such calls at the post office.
