SHIPPING NEWS.

MATAKANA DUE TO-MORROW. MONTEREY SAILING- FOR SYDNEY. Two large liners, the Monterey and the Franconia, are berthed at the wharves to-day. The German fourmasted barque Magdalene Vinnen sails for Australia to-morrow, and the Nogoya for England. H.M.s. Veronica is also to leave for England to be broken up. Cargo operations for the next few days will not be heavy. Monterey arrived this morning from San Francisco, via Los Angeles, Honolulu, Pago Pago and Suva. She sails again for Sydney and Melbourne at 5 p.m. to-day, taking passengers, mails and cargo. (H. and M.) Matakana is due at daybreak to-mor-row from Liverpool with cargo for Auckland, Wellington, Lyttelton, Dunedin and Bluff. She has been allotted a berth at the Prince's wharf. (A.S.P.) Port Nicholson was loading at Opua this morning, and is expected at Auckland at 6 a.m. to-morrow to continue loading at the Queen's wharf. She will probably be dispatched on Tuesday night for Gisborne, Wangamri and Wellington, whence she sails for London and west coast of Great Britain ports. (H.R.) Opawa expects to leave New Plymouth to day for Auckland to continue loading for London, Avomnouth, Liverpool and Glasgow. She will complete her cargo at Wellington and Napier. (N.Z.S.) Franconia is to leave for Wellington at 7 p.m. to-morrow from the Prince's wharf in continuation of her southern hemisphere world cruise. She is taking mails for Australia. (F.C.A.) Rangit:3:i, loading at the Central wharf, is expected to be dispatched for Tokomaru Bay on Tuesday. (N.Z.S.)■ H.M.s. Veronica is to leave for England at 11.30 a.m. to-morrow to. lie broken up. She is berthed at the Western Viaduct. Nogoya is completing loading at the Queen's wharf, and sails to-morrow morning at daybreak for Southampton and London, via Cape Horn and Montevideo. (L.D.N.) Magdalene Vinnen has finished fuelling at the Western wharf, and was removed to the stream at noon to-day. She sails on Sunday morning for South Australia to take on wheat for Europe. (W.E.L.)
