CHANGE IN FABRICS.
GRASS AND GOAT'S HAIR. Here are the new spring secrets from the three great fashion centres of Europe—London, Paris and Vienna. The big change is in fabrics. Many have an Oriental influence in colour and design. Grass, goat's hair, African cactus fibre, and ostrich down, are interwoven with wool to give novelty effects. On the silks and crepes, garlands of wild flowers and exotic florets will be patterned, a striking contrast to the plaids and geometric designs of last summer. Even woman's shape is to be changed for 1034. The shoulder paddings and the sleeve puffs are to disappear. The silhouette is to become pencil-like in its slimness, with a curve here and there emphasised by a pair of wings in pleated material. 011 "evening dresses ruffles coil round the figure in snake-like evolutions. Snaky Features. The jumper suits are to be the big everyday success. These are made in the new elastic material, and are held at the waist by a broad leather or snakeskin 'belt. Other snaky features are fasteners and neck ropes made of flexible tubing either gilded or silvered. Fruits instead of flowers have inspired the colour selections for the spring. Gooseberry green, strawberry red, blue plum, and cherry are the fruit tones, with a future.
