EVELYN LAYE RETURNS.
IN FAMOUS OLD OPERA. Auckland, if overseas critics and distributing agents are correct, will thrill tomorrow night to the lilt of Continental operetta. " Waltz Time," adapted from Johann Strauss' undying "Die Fledermaue," is the production to bring this treat. It will open a season at the Civic Theatre to-morrow. A. P. Herbert adapted " Waltz Time " from " Die Fledermaus," being responsible, it is said, for the introduction of distinctly witty dialogue and situations. The 6tory opens amid the gaiety and revelry of a carnival in Vienna, and that high note of joy is never lost during the entire screening of the picture. Evelyn Laye, the English and Continental favourite, is starred with Fritz Schultz and Gina Malo. The Civic is also screening " The Life of H.R.H. the Prince of Wales," claimed to be the only really authentic film study of the career of the heir to the Throne of the Empire,
