AUCKLAND BRANCH. The monthly meeting of the Auckland branch of the' Women's Division of the Farmers' Union was held in the Farmers' Trading Company board room 011 Tuesday. Mrs. J. T. F. Mitchell presided, and welcomed new members and visitors. A message was received from the Dominion president, in which she stressed several points 011 which >shc considered the members should concentrate in the coining year. A letter was received from the Queensland Country Woman's Association, an organisation which works on similar lines to the W.D.F.U. The president reported having had an interview with Mrs. Fairfax who was the founder of the movement in Queensland, and who recently visited Auckland. Members were urged to subscribe to the paper which is issued monthly from headquarters. Mrs. Thronsen spoke of the brighter outlook for sheep-farmers as compared with previous seasons.
