Mr. W. Grounds, of Hokianga, is at the Star Hotel. Mr. ,T. L. and Lady Mabel Luddington are arriving- at Wellington by the Rangitiki on Friday. Mr. S. J. E. Closey left by the Limited last evening for Wellington in connection with the currency inquiry. Sir Geo. Fowlds left by the Limited last evening to attend a meeting of the Dairy Research Council in Wellington. Mr. H. P. Burton left by the Limited last evening to attend a conference of the New Zealand Master Bakers' Association at Hastings. The Rev. F.. J. Parker, minister of the Jit. Eden Methodist Church, left for Wellington la*t evening to attend tlio Xew Zealand Methodist Conference. The Rev. A. .1. Scamer. general superintendent of Methodist Home Missions, is attending the annual Xew Zealand Methodist Conference in Wellington. Captain E. Maude Kilgour, who has been assistant oflieer of the Salvation Army in Dunedin. has been transferred to the Training College at Wellington. -Mr. G. A. Lewin, town clerk of Dunedin, and Mrs. Lewin left London, on the way to Xew Zealand, by the liner Otranto, which is due at Sydney next Thursday. The Rev. J. Pigott, formerly vicar of Waipiro Bay, in the diocese of Waiapu, has just been appointed rural dean of Sparkenhoe, in the diocese of the B.sliop of Leicester. Captain H. M. Rusliwortli and Mr. A. J. Murdoch, M.P.'s, left fof Wellington by the Limited last evening. They are members of the Sclect Committee inquiring into currency problems. Mr. Bob McCullough, who has been in London studying accounting and costing methods for some years, is returning to Auckland early in March. Mr. McCullough intends taking an active part in Rugby during the coming season. Mr. G. W. Hutchison, Mayor of Auckland, left for Wellington last evening to attend a meeting of the Xorth Isfand Motor Union as representative of the Automobile Association. He will probably return on Thursday morning. Mr. H. D Dickenson and Mrs. Dickenson are arriving at Wellington by the Rangitiki on Friday. Mr. Dickenson has exchanged for a year with Mr R. H. Rodwell, lecturer in economics at Auckland University, who is now at Leeds University. Adjutant and Mr.;. Mackenzie, of the Hawera Salvation Army corps, are to take charge of the Salvation Army's work in Devonport. Ensign and Mrs. Armstrong, of Foxton, have been appointed to succeed Adjutant and Mrs. Mackenzie at Hawera.
