RACING AT ROTORUA.

THE FINAL DAY. BERYL LATOUR AGAIN. CHIEF COOK ALSO WINS DOUBLE. The annual meeting of the Rotorua Racing Club was concluded at Arawa Park, Rotorua, yesterday. The weather -was fine though dull during the early part of the programme, but later rain set in, and it was showery for the remainder of the afternoon. There was a fair attendance, and the course, which ■was inclined to cut up a bit early after heavy overnight rain, eventually became lioldine. During the day the sum of £7SOO 10/ was put through the machine, compared with £10,970 10/ for the corresponding dav last year, a decrease of £3179. This made a total for the fixture of £17,343, against £22,34-2 10/, a decreaso of £409S 10/. After the running of the Borough Handicap the judicial committee met to inquire into alleged interference with Hampton Park after the field had gone about half a furlong. It was decided to suspend A. Tinker, rider of Limex, for three weeks, for crossing too quickly. Tinker intends to appeal against the decision. The Chief Event. Last Lap, Valueless and Beryl Latour ■were most in request for the President's Handicap. Valueless was the early leader from Last Lap, Whakapara, Trishna, Tcels and Beryl Latour, but o-oing along the back Last Lap was in charge from Valueless, Whakapara, Tcels, Trishna and Beryl Latour. Last Lap was first into line, attended by Beryl Latour, Whakapara and Teels, but Beryl Latour did best in the run home to win by two lengths from Last Lap, who beat Trishna by three lengths. Whakapara, Teels and Valueless were next.

First Dance Wins. Calcutta was the only defection from tlie Flying Stakes and Darma, Springtime and First T)ance were Lest supported. Darma, Princess Lap, Springtime and First Dance were in charge when they settled down, and First Dance, Bonny Joyce, Princess Lap, Darma and Springtime were most prominent at tlie turn. -First Dance held off Darma to win by a neck, with Springtime threequarters of a length away. Bonny Joyce, Street Dancer and La Poto were next. The Electric Handicap. Only five went to the post for the Electric Handicap, Solarium and Tuaheahe being most favoured. Solarium and Ivanapa were first to show out, and along the back they were closely attended by Lady Diana, Tuaheahe and Matonga. The order was the same into the straight, Tuaheahe winning by a neck from Lady Diana, who beat Ivanapa by a similar distance. Solarium was fourth. The Final Event.

Only five were saddled tip for the concluding event, the Farewell Handicap, and Chief Cook was favourite on the win machine, while Coronis was (best backed on the place totalisator. Norval Tea was the early leader from' Alloy, Chief Cook, Coronis and Loombination, and they raced in that order along the back. Nearing the home turn Chief Cook drew up to the leaders, and drawing away in the straight won by a length and a half from Loombination, who beat Alloy by a neck. Then came Coronis and Norval Tea.
