WAIRARAPA WRECK.
OTAGO SURVIVOR'S DEATH. (By Telegraph.—Own Correspondent.) DUNEDIN, this day. Mr. John Hempseed, who died at Port Chalmers, aged 84 years, was one of the few remaining survivors of the wreck of the Wairarapa on Great Barrier Island, Auckland. He had been six years on the steamer when she mft her end.' He was born in Alva, Scotland, and was one of the foundation members of the Port Chalmers Old Identities' Association.
