BULLET IN BODY.
FARM HAND IN ACCIDENT. PEA RIFLE GOES OFF. (By Tclegrnpli.—Press Association.) MASTERTON, Tuesday. An unusual shooting accident occurred at Otaraia station, about eight miles from Martinborough, this evening, as a result of which Mr. E. Webb, a farm hand, aged 26 years, was wounded and was admitted to hospital in a serious condition. It is understood that another station employee, Mr. William Busch, left a pea r.ifle he was cleaning outside the house for a few minutes, and that in his absence a 10-year-old boy picked up the rifle, which, went off. Mr. Webb was standing close by, and the bullet entered his body. The injured man, whose parents reside in Wellington, was conveyed immediately to the Featherston Hospital. An operation will be necessary.
