WOMEN IN AIR RACE.
Will any Australian women take part in the Centenary air race? Already Mrs, Amy Mollison and Miss Marcendalc, of Great Britain, and Mrs. Amelia Earheart Putnam, of America, have announced their intention of competing in the great flight, but so far no Australian airwoman has stated that she will join the contest. The deputy-chairman of the Race Committee said that there was no reason why Australian airwomen should, not enter and have a chance of winning the race. "Mrs. Bouncy is familiar with the flight," he said, "and there are several airwomen in Australia of conspicuous ability who would be formidable competitors. Final entries will not be received until June 30, however, and so far we have not had any from Australian women. They should be equal to a number of the men who will take part in the race."
