KILLED INSTANTLY
YOUNG MOTOR CYCLIST COLLISION WITH VAN. THROWN ON HIS HEAD. Frederick Thursby, aged about IS, was killed instantly this morning at the intersection of Owairaka Avenue and Mount Albert Road when the motor cycle he was riding collided with a bread delivery van driven by Mr. E. M. Sadgrove, of 39, Mount Albert Road. The delivery van, owned by Mr. R. Stuart, of Mount Albert, was travelling along Mount Albert Road, in the direction of the New Xorth Road, while Thursby was turning out of Owairaka Avenue" into Mount Albert Road. He was thrown on his- head and his skull was firacturcd. Immediately after the accident a doctor and a St. John Ambulance were called, but Thursby had been killed almost instantaneously. The motor cycle was badly damaged, but the van had only a mudguard dented, and the driver wa's able to continue his round.
Thursby lived at Atkinson Road, Titirangi. and was on his way to work in the city.
