RAROTONGAN PARTY.
HIGH HONOUR FOB CHIEF.
Tlie party of 31 Earotongans, who were invited by the New Zealand Government to attend the Waitangi celebrations, spent last night in Auckland, and went North by the 8.40 train this morning. Under the leadership of the head chie'f of the Earotongans, Makea Ariki, the party has been making a tour of the North Island. Makea Ariki will be invested with the Order of the British Empire by the Governor-General at Waitangi in recognition of the good work he has done for the Earotongan people, especially in helping those who were rendered homeless by hurricanes.
