Sir James Gunson left for the South last evening. Mr. W. Gooflfellow leaves by to-night's Limited for Wellington.
Sir Geo. Fowlds left for Palmerston North by the Limited last evening. Mr. C. M. TUchwhite, director of Glen Afton Collieries. Ltd., leaves for Wellington by the Limited to-night. Sir Geo. Elliot and Mr. O. Nicholson, leave for the South by the Limited tonight. Mr. and Mrs. C. J. Lovegrove returned from Syflney hy the Wanganella yesterday. Mr. H. M. Rushworth.. M.P. for Bay of Islands, left for Wellington by the Limited last evening. Dr. J. A. Stallworthy and Mrs. Stallworthy are leaving by the Port Sydney to-night for England. Captain D. Todd, formerly commodore of the Union Company fleet, is on a visit to Wellington from Sydney with Mrs. Tod-1. Mr. J. M. Elliffe returned by the Limited this morning from Wellington, where he attended a special meeting of the N.Z. Society of Accountants. Mr. C. E. Harrison, New Zealand manager for the London and Lancashire Insurance Co., is expected to return from Wellington on Monday next. Dr. G. C. Fair, Professor of Physics at Canterbury University College, has returned from a eix weeks' holiday in Australia. Mr. F. E. Graham, chairman of the Canterbury Stock Exchange, who has been indisposed, is reported to be making good progress towards recovery. Mr. S. W. M. Stilling, New Zealand representative of the Australian National Travel Association, left again for the South last evening.
Mr. R. A. Anderson, of Invercargill, a director of the Bank of New Zealand, left again for the Sduth by the Limited' last evening, after a short visit to Auckland. Mr. A. O. Hemingway, of the staff of the Bank of Australasia at Auckland, left for the North this morning to do relieving work at Maunganui and other places. Mr. W. H. Bennett, chairman of the Board of Governors of the Wellington Technical College, is in a private hospital, where he recently underwent a serious operation. Mr. F. H. Gifford, manager at Auckland for the New Zealand Shipping Co., is on the Wanganella for her northern cruise, accompanied by Mrs. Gifford and Miss Joan Gifford. Mr. and Mrs. J. M. Carpenter and Mr, John Carpenter left this morning for Taupo, where they will spend a fortnight. Mr. E. Collins, of Wellington, has been appointed district public trustee at Nelson, in succession to Mr. A. Bell, who has been transferred to the _posi« tion of supervising estates administration clerk, head office. The Duke of Northumberland, Colonel Henslowe, and Brigadier-General and Mrs. Palmer are at present staying ** the New Zealand Deep-sea Angling Cta£ Otehei, Bay of Islands, for the big game fishing. • ~ . . j The Hon.
