The earliest proposal to use electricity for communicating signals was made in 1753 in the by a writer who signed himself "CM." In 1811, Sommerring, a German anatomist, made a telegraph aparatus. The first instrument which came into practical use was that of Gauss and Weber at Gottingen in 1833. Four years later the germ from which the present system has been developed was independently discovered by Stcinheil, of Munich; Wn.eatstone, of London; and Morse, of Charleston, in the United States. The first English patent dates from 1837. Flies, mosquitoee and other insect peets cannot escape JTlytox. Use Flytox hand spray pump.—(Ad.)
