RESERVE BANK.
BIG DEMAND FOR SHARES.
SOME SALES ALREADY MADE. Although the prospectus of the Reserve Bunk of New Zealand share issue has not been received by the Auckland Stock Exchange, there are a few copies in the city, and some sales of the £5 scrip have already been made.
In the opinion of a leading local broker the issue will be largely oversubscribed before February 15, the closing day for the receipt of applications. In the discretion of the Minister the list may be closed before the date mentioned. In the prospectus the Minister makes'it clear that it is the desire of the (iovcrnment that as large a number of the general public as poesiblo shall be part-owners of the new bank, from which it will be understood that special consideration will be given to small investors.
