NORTHCOTE WORK.
ADEQUATE FOR 100 MEN. A list of proposed works, which could be put in hand within the ensuing six months, suitable for No. 5 scheme, has been prepared by the Northeote Borough Council. It was decided last evening to forward this information to the Minister of Employment, the Hon. A. Hamilton, and to state that these worke would absorb about 100 men.
Thie reply is being sent to the Minister upon his request to be furnished with the programme of proposed works, which would not be carried out ordinarily by the Borough Council, in view of the representations made that adequate work of economic value was available within the borough for all local relief workers.
