WANGANELLA IN PORT.

RESEARCH SHIP'S VISIT.

There are seven large overseas vessels in port to-day. Loading and discharging operations are in full swing again after the holiday yesterday. The liner Wanganella arrived from Sydney this morning, and the Royal research ship Discovery 11. is berthed at the Western Viaduct.

Wanganella berthed at the Prince's wharf early this morning to land passengers, mails and cargo. She sails at 5 p.m. to-day for Whangaroa, Russell and Great Barrier on an excursion cruise. The liner returns to port on Friday, sailing the same day forSSyrd r

ney. (H.P.) Triona arrived this afternoon from Nauru with 6500 tons of phosphate, all of which is for discharge at Auckland. She is berthed at the King's wharf. (11. and M.) Discovery 11. arrived at noon to-day from the Falkland Islands. She is berthed at the Western Viaduct to refit. The research ship expects to he in port for a week. (N.Z.S.) Cornwall is expected to leave Napier to-night for Auckland for final loading. She will probably berth at .the Queen's wharf, and sails on Friday night or Saturday morning for London, via Panama. Ruahine has radioed that she expects to arrive from Liverpool at daybreak on Friday with passengers, mails and cargo. After discharge of her local consignments, she proceeds to Wellington, Lyttelton and Dunedin to complete before loading for the return to Great Britain. (N.Z.S.) Zealandic, loading at the Queen's wharf, ifi to sail at i> p.m. to-day for Wellington and Lyttelton to complete, sailing from the latter port on February 9 for London, Liverpool and Glasgow. (A.S.P.) Port Sydney, completing her cargo at the Queen's wharf, is to sail to-morrow afternoon for London, via Cape Horn. (F.C.A.) H.M.s. Dunedin and Diomede sailed this afternoon for Hauraki Gulf to carry out gunnery exercises. They return to port on February 9 to refuel and provision preparatory to their Southern cruise.
