MOSES AGAIN WINNER.

MATTSON'S FAST LAP,

Winner of three previous T.T. races at Waibeke, S. Moses was agam victorious in yesterday's event, coming in with a substantial lead in almost the same time as last year's race took. Twenty riders started in the race ot 168 miles. W. Grieve, L. Farnham, J. McLeod, and D. Craigie failed to line up, but the last-named, who broke his ankle in practice, was replaced by M. Sihch, to represent the Whangarei Club. The riders started at 20-second internals in the following order:—A. Morgan (Velocette), A. Mattson (Norton), A. McLaren (A.J.S.), L. Ransom (A.J.S.), 5. Moses (Rudge), B. Bray (Norton), £. Silich (Norton), E. R. Anderson [Rex Acme), A. Bradley (Rudge), C. Joldberg (H.D., J.A.P.), L. Sowerby Velocette), A. Perry (Velocette), ±". >oland (New Hudson), H. Tetley (Nor;on), W. Grey (Norton), J. Dale Rudge), W. Robbins (Velocette), B. Smith (Norton), L. Perry (Velocette), R. tfcLeod (Cotton), C. R. Allen (Sunbeam). All got away quickly, with the excep;ion of J. Dale, who lost five laps trying o get his engine started. Mattson took ,he lead in the first lap, and continued ;o increase it, doing the seventh lap in M 4-5. a record for the course. After mrning out three spark plugs in four aps, Bray had to retire. Two laps later, 3roy and Poland retired with valve .rouble, while A. Perry returned to the jits with the news that a fall had put lis machine tut of action. When engine trouble began to delay Mattson, Sowerby worked into leading losition in the 12th lap, but had to retire shortly after with a burned-out bearing, md Moses took his place at the head of ;ho field. Entering the twentieth lap, Moses was a lap and a half ahead of the lext man. Goldberg, who was followed >y Robbins, Bradley, Smith and Mattson n that order, the last-named riding fast jut a long way behind. Having to stop it the pit to clear a blocked jet cost joldberg his position, Robbins replacing lim as second, and Mattson coming up into third. At the end of the 21st lap, lowever, Mattson had to retire. With over two laps to spare, Moses same in an easy winner, his actual •iding time being 3h 14m 30s. The other placed riders were Robbins, Smith, and joldberg ,while Perry, McLeod and Anderson were still going, but failed to inish within 20 minutes of the winner.
