RESULTS OF THE RACES,

Bright sunshine and a steady northcast breeze made ideal conditions for the regatta yesterday, held in celebration of the 94th anniversary of the Dominion, and from every point of view the regatta was an outstanding success. The Naval authorities gave the regatta committee every assistance in carrying out the duties of the day. All events were started on time and were carried out 'without a mishap or hitch of any kind. The display made by the very ]ar»e number of sailing craft was one only to be seen on the Waitemata. The motor boat races were carried out between the Prince's and the Western ■wharves. At the conclusion of the racing, the committee gathered on the quarter deck of the flagship, where Mr. Ernest Davis thanked Captain Cosmo Graham, his officers and men for their assistance in carrying out the regatta and presented him with a book cover of New Zealand inlaid woods. In acknowledging the gift Captain Graham said it was a pleasure to be able to help the regatta and tc foster the love of the sea in the youths

of Auckland. Later Mr. Davis also thanked Mr. T B. Clay, chairman of the Harbour Board and Captain H. H.
