SCAIFE TOPS THE CENTURY.
SYDNEY, January 29. The Sheffield Shield cricket match between New South Wales and Victoria was continued to-day. In reply to New South Wales' first innings total of 072 for eight wickets, declared, Victoria made 407 in its first innings (Woodfull 83, Rigg 25, Darling 8, Scaife 120, Bromley 92, Barnett 25, Ebeling 21). Bowling for New South Wales, Hill took three wickets for 40, O'Reilly two for 94. Chilvers two for 124, Chipperfield two for 74. Victoria followed on, and, at stumps, had scored one run for no wickets, Woodfull and O'Brien being the opening batsmen.
M.C.C.'S EASY VICTORY. CALCUTTA, January 29. Marylebone 451 for seven wickets, declared, and 72 for nine (also declared) beat Mysore, 107 (Clark seven wickets for eight runs) and 55 (Clarke five for 19 and Barnett five for 21) by 361 ium.
