VICE-REGAL VISIT.
AUCKLAND ARRANGEMENTS. The Governor-General, Lord Bledisloe, and Lady Bledisloe arrived in Auckland from Botorua last evening and went into residence at Government House. Their Excellencies witnessed to-day the Anniversary Regatta from the flagship H.M.s. Diomede. Arrangements were made by the regatta committee for the- Vice-Regal party to go on board Mr. C. H. Palmer's motor yacht Adelaide at the Admiralty steps at 10.45, and after a cruise of the harbour they were received by • Mr. Ernest Davis, chairman of the regatta committee. The vice-regal party had lunch on the cruiser. Their Excellencies will leave toward the end of the week by the Government steamer Matai to attend tho Waitangi celebrations. En route they will call at Kawau to be present at the Royal New Zealand Yacht Squadron's regatta, which will be held next Saturday. At the conclusion of the Waitangi ceremonies on February 6 their Excellencies will sail by the Matai, which will be engaged on one of her periodical visits to the lighthouses in the coastal area of Auckland. Later in the month they will return to Government House, Auckland, where they expect to remain for the autumn.
