CRITICAL JUDGE.
YOUNG BARONET'S DEBTS. LONDON, January 18. When Sir Charles Mappin, Bart., told the Westminster County Court that his income was derived from £100,000 left in trust, the judge said it was regrettable that young men were left such a sum before they were of age. Sir Charles appeared oh a judgment summons by a woman proprietor of a club for £103, due for drink,-food and cigarettes in .18 months. The judge criticised the woman for allowing a member to accumulate such a bill for drinks, as it was an incentive for young men to drink, and also for her failure to remove Sir Charles Mappin from the club Sir Charles told the judge it was difficult to state how his affairs stood. He was married when he was 21, and had a special aallowance from the trustees of his estate, who were at liberty to alter it when they liked. "I have board and lodging plus £5 a week. The best I can offer is £5 a month, he said. He was ordered to pay £0 a month.
