BOXING.
BEATEN AND RETIRES. NEW YORK, January 25. The lightweight boxing champiqn, Barney Ross, defeated Billy Petrolle in a tenround non-title bout. Ross won every round,by brilliant boxing. After the contest Petrolle, once considered to be the hardest hitting lightweight in the ring, announced his retirement.
