MOUNT ALBERT COUNCIL.
The Mount Albert Borough Council met on Tuesday evening, the Mayor, Mr. R. Ferner, presiding. Purchasing.—On the motion of Mr. G. E. Carr it was decided that the standing, authority vested in the purchasing committee as to expenditure should _be restricted to an amount not exceeding £200. Rates. —The town clerk reported that rates collected to December 15 totalled £40,696, compared with £41,576 at the same date the previous year. The bank overdraft on January IS was £36.834, compared, with £41,731 on the same date last year. Hospital Board. —The Mayor was given power to act in conjunction with the representatives of other local bodies i:i nominating a representative on the Auckland Hospital Board in the place of Mr. John Rowe. Milk Council. —Support was given to the nomination of Mr. I. J. Goldstine, Mayor of One, Tree Hill, and Mr. F. E. Martin, member of the Mount_ Albert Borough Council,' for membership of the Metro-: politan Milk Council.
