French Confidence Vote in
Senate.
FRIENDSHIP WITH BRITAIN.
PARIS, January 19.
Tho Senate carried a vote of confidence in the Government by 257 votes to 3. Previously, the Prime Minister, M. Chautemps, had explained his foreign policy.
M. Chautemps said that agreement between Britain and France was one of the essential pillars of world peace. There was no question of reducing the French Army while other nations were rearming.
