PIPE-CLEANER ZOO.
With your next penny buy a bundle of pipe cleaners, or, if you have sixpence, buy six bundles, because I am going to tell you' how you can make lots of animals with handy little cleaners.
For making the first animal, an ostrich, you will need quite a lot of cleaners. First bend one to form the neck and the foundation for the body; round this one twist two others to make the tail feathers,, leaving a length hanging down to form the legs, as shown in Fig. I.
Now wind lots of cleaners round and round the skeleton to make a nice plump body. as . shown in Fig. 2. Take two other cleaners and wind one round each leg, and finish off by spreading it out to make the feet, as, of course, you will want your ostrich to stand up.
Now with pen arid ink make a little eye in the head of the bird, and you have the first animal in your pipecleaner zoo (Fig. 3).
