COMEDIAN MAY DESERT FILMS.
Gene Gerrard (who used to bc_ a favourite in Australia on the vaudeville stage) has given up the screen, and will in future concentrate on the stage.
Gene has been saying hard things about British studios, but it is generally thought in the Old Country that he has largely himself to blame for the fact that his films have not won wider approval. Like one or two other comedians, he has shown a desire to produce himself, and, in doing so, has sought to be more the leading man than the comedian.
