AFTER THE HOLIDAYS.
After spending a holiday bathinjr and lazin" bv the sea, one returns home beautifully tanned, as a rulebut with the hair in a very bad condition. iblv after immersion in salt "water ana exposure to the fierce glare of the sun tli© hair has lost much of its gloss and colour, and" it is somewhat faded and lifeless. Before giving the hair a shampoo, massage the scalp thorougldy movin" the skin under the tips of the fingers. Then rub it vigorously with a roii"h towel, and brush it in front of an° open window forabout fifteen minutes. Continue the rubbing, brusliin and shampooing at regular intervals until the hair recovers its vitality. I the hair is dry, massage it with the finger-tips dipped in warm olive oil before the hair is washed. Part the hair all over the liead and carefully rub oil into the partings, soaking the whole head in oil. After this a warm towel should be wrapped round the head and left for half an hour. • Then shampoo it and when the liair is thoroughly dry, it should be brushed again and finally smoothed repeatedly with a silk handkerchief to give it a gloss.
