WHAKATANE TOURNEY. (From Our Own Correspondent.) WHAKATANE, Friday. In the local competitions for the handicap pairs 13. Ourrah, as winner of section A, met R. F. Smith, winner of section B, and defeated the latter by 21 to 0. In the other seml-linal A. Shaw, as winner of section C. met W. Baxter, winner of section D. This proved a most exciting game, the plavers being even throughout, and the score stood at 18 all at the conclusion of the twentieth head. On the 6°al head Shaw, with his third bowl, drew the shot. With his last bowl Baxter touched the jack, but failed by an Inch to register the winning shot. Shaw thus won by 11) points to 18, and will meet E. Currali in th« final. In the handicap pairs A. Nicol and A. Shaw will play oil the final with J. Ilamus and T. A. Hogg.
