LONG RIDE IN TAXI.
FARM HAND'S MEAN FRAUD

THAMES, Friday.
Pleading guilty to a charge of obtaining credit by fraud by incurring a debt of £5 with Frank Thomas Fraider, a taxi proprietor, John Cyril Thomas Hogan, a farm hand, of Pokeno, appeared in the Police Court yesterday. _ The offence was described "as a "particularly dirty trick." Sergeant J. F. H. Jlacnamnra stated that accused had caused Fraider to motor him 132 miles. Fraider was struggling to make a living and had no chance of recovering the fare. c
Hogan was convicted and ordered to come up for sentence when called upon, conditional upon restitution of £o bein« made. °
