WHENUAPAI INSTITUTE.
The lirst birthday of the Wlieiuiapai Women's institute was celebrated successfully by holding an open picnic in Wake's paddock at Whcnuapai Beach. Lunch and tea were enjoyed in the shade of the trees. Sports, competitions, swimming and boating contributed to the day's enjoyment. Greenhithe and Hobsonville Institutes were well represented at the gathering. A birthday cake made by Mrs. C. Hill, president, was cut by Mrs. Tate, of Greenhithe, who organised the Whenuapai Institute. Moving pictures were taken of the proceedings by Mrs. Wake.
