EXPORT OF FRUIT.

DECREASE IN HAWKE'S BAY. (By Telegraph.—Press Association.) HASTINGS, Thursday. The fruit export from Hawke'e Bay this season will apparently be lees than in 1932, in which year the record quantity of 209,117 cases of fruit left the district for overseas. Hawke'e Bay will probably send torward a quarter of Nelson's quota of 900,000 cases, bookings of 157.650 cases o£ apples and 49,830 -cases of pears, a totrl of 207,480 cases, having been received, a decrease of 75,804 cases on the' 283.25 i cases last year. The jrreateet decrease appears to be jn apples, the pear bookings being well maintained. A feature of the bookings i<s tiiu increased space required for Granny Smith apples, which come on the markup at the tail-end of the eeaeon.
