CITY SHOWS. The fresh programmes in the city this evening are as follow:—"King of the Ritz," another of Stanley Lupino's enjoyable musical comedies, at the Plaza; "Radio Parade,", an English musical revue film, screening. with "The Three Little Pigs," at the Regent; "Blonde Bombshell," the new Jean Harlow film, at ther St» James'; "After the Ball," with Esther Ralston, Basil Rathbone and Marie Burke, together with "My Lucky Star," at the Majestic, and "Disgraced," a Helen Twelvetrees vehicle, at the Strand. The Roxy and Tivoli, ■ with "Olsen's Big Moment" (El Brendel) and "The Mad Game" (Spencer Tracy) on similar programmes, changed last Wednesday. 'The Song of Songs," with the glamorous Marlene Dietrich, is to remain at the Civic a further week, while "The Hayseeds, after three highly successful weeks at the Regent, is transferred to the National. ONEROA BEACH CARNIVALS. To-morrow afternoon at 1.45 the s.s. Duchess will leave the Central wharf for Waiheke Island, conveying holiday makers to Oneroa, where an extensive sports and athletic carnival has been arranged to take place, with large money prizes. On the Sunday other attractions at Oneroa will be offered, including Jack Robinsons dance orchestra and carnival band, the "Frolics of '34" Revue Company, headed by Rees and Kay, free dancing in the cabaret during the afternoon, with orchestra, a baby show, a beauty contest, and items by the "Livewires" Revue Company, presenting their new musical revue show, "Knuts and Wine." Holiday makers cannot fail to enjoy themselves at Oneroa this coming week-end. CARLAW PARK ENTERTAINMENT. Athletics, cycling, wrestling, a tug-o'-war, and a gymnastic display will be provided in the course of an entertainment to be given in Carlaw Park in aid of the funds of the Waterside Workers - Silver Band.to-morrow afternoon. Massed bands will be in attendance, presenting musical selections.
