Mr. H. J. Wernham, of Auckland, leaves Wellington by the Monowai today on a health trip to Australia. Dr. Hughes Steele has returned to Wellington from London, where he has been attending the post-graduate clinics. Dr. and Mrs. L. L. Gordon Brury left to-day on a motor tour of the North, They expect to be absent two or three weeks. Sir Daniel Levy, Speaker of the House of Representatives, New South Wales, has arranged to visit New Zealand shortly. The Rev. D. V. Whitlock, of New Plymouth, lias been appointed priest-in-charge of the Otorohanga Church of England parish. Mr. and Mrs. A. du Cros, of London, who have been deep-sea fishing at Russell, returned to Auckland yesterday, and are at Hotel Cargen. Mr. H. A. Beauchamp, managing director of Kodak New Zealand Ltd., leaves Wellington to-day by the Monowai on a business visit to Sydney. Dr. H. G. Denham was re-elected chairman of the board of governors of Canterbury Agricultural College, Lincoln, at a meeting of the board on Wednesday. Dr. Denham commences his fourth year as chairman. Mr. J. B. Brigdcn, director of the Queensland Bureau of Industry, who has spent a fortnight touring the southern districts of the South Island on a holiday visit to the country, leaves Wellington for Sydney by the Monowai to-day.
