PAYING HER WAY.
Commonwealth Revenue Exceeds Expenditure. FIRST HALF OF YEAR. (Received 11 a.m.) CANBERRA, this day. For the six months ended December 31 the receipts of the Commonwealth exceeded expenditure by £2,408,000. It is estimated that increased expenditure in the second half of the year will more than absorb this excess. Receipts amounted to £35,845,000 and expenditure to £33,437,000.
